I love these groups...
These are my favorite people who draw Rito!
Jennalee here. Unique name I know. I used to be a deviantart, about 2 or 3 years ago and deleted my account way back.
I used to play the very old Zelda games and recently took a long break from college and decided to look into what kind of Zelda games may have come after Ocarina of Time.. I had played Majora's Mask but became uninterested in Zelda back when I got out of school and started collage, and saw just a glimps of the Windwaker. My first sight of the new link was at the Mall and I thought he looked abstract or like a cartoon and that was that..
Untill...I had alot of time on my hands and so one day I went to Canada to see my brother and his family, they own a gamecube and the Windwaker.. I thought.. oh yeah, the new Zelda game right?
I immidiately started a file... I was only going to be there for 2 days though...so I bought a memory card and started playing, though I didn't want all my time with my brother and nephews to be taken by my playing thier game and hogging their TV so I just let them show me.
As I played the game, I noticed that the cartoon graphics were ok and that it actually went well with what was going on, and it grew on me quickly.
Just as I started to get bored though intrigued by having to sit on the talking boat and sail to far places, I found myself to a new Island and the king dropped in my hands the wind baton...I became the windwaker...and so he told me of a people I shall meet and a problem they have.. all fine and well.............so I run around jump around, figure out what I have to do to go anywhere..................put blocks where they should be and on my way I am....
So here I go up to the Dragon Roost Post Office...."oh wait who's that!" Oh! It's that strikingly interesting man with the white hair-do and a beak and very well fitted threads hehe...cool! So this guy is a Rito....lets go see the tribe!
OH WOW!! HOT! FLYING! BIRDPEOPLE! What is it that makes me so obsessed and why aren't there more people seeing this unusual take on zelda hybrids being attractive...so why am I so attracted!
Maybe it has to do something with a guy I used to like who resembled them a bit...or maybe their similarities with my American Indian Heritage (My mother is a full-blood member of the Ojibwa band of indians in Canada)....Or is it just the all around culture that seems in touch with Ancient Elements and Spirituality. Or maybe it's the fact that tall, dark and handsome is majestically equipt with a flying ability...I don't know.
So when I came home, I looked for a special deal on the game with a gamecube and I contenued my file, completeing the game and being more intrigued and down right obsessed than ever.
I'd like to discuss the rito tribe.......being this is an art site, I searched for them here after I remembered there might be Rito Fan Peoples. I haven't found any other forum type website with discussion of the Rito...and haven't really looked because their woulnd't be art...just long self created RPGs that have nothing to do with the Rito and how they are.
Does anyone know what the heck those previous bird people in a Zelda manga was about? Or if they were official and/or created by Mr. Miyamoto and not the actual manga artist? Do you know if it was Mr. Miyamoto himself who disigned the Ritos?? Or just some random person who was hired to help design the WindWaker...
Thanks if you welcomely welcome me and I'd love to hear everyone/anyones comments.
BTW - Is Namali Taken?? Well I don't think he is because he's my Avarage Joe Rito! Yup!

Devious Comments
I do believe that the manga whith the other bird people is an official manga, but I don't know if Mr. Miyamoto had any thing to do with them or the rito tribe.
Actually, if you haven't already seen, there are a couple clubs here on DA that are all about the ritos!
I co-adimin

Yeah not alot of changes, mainly they are for the subscribers....there weren't as many back then..
If they are official.. then they must have something to do with Zelda right?? Or atleast asked permission from Mr. Miyamoto... Which I amagin if it is official and Miyamoto doesn't take credit for them then he must have been involved in some way...

Paint a picture and it is as real as anything you see, because you can see it, too.....You can create as your creator.
Ah. Well, there are a lot of perks now.
That make sence to me.

Um... what do you mean by perk?
Cool, any more thoughts on the Rito? What about the Dragon Roost Island theme...? I have plenty of thoughts on that...non of which are cemented....which makes it interesting and a good topic to discuss.....don't you think?

As far as the music... the flute reminds me of the Navajo (dine) culture and the desert, and kina sounds like a general asian flute.....it also sounds like the zampona, said like (samponya) which is a south american fan flute. The rythem and string intruments sounds alot like a sertain old Spanish type of music/dance called Sevillana which is ofcourse a kind of Flamenco I belive...though there is a higher sounding guitar...like a mandolin but I have never heard a mandolin into this kind of music. So it brings me back to south america and the Charango, said like cha (as in cha cha cha) ran (like ron, the name) go. not rango as in mango, lol.......It's the most popular instrument in Bolivia and is an indian attempt to copy the version of guitar brought from Spain at that time and is usually used WITH the Zampona and used to be made out of an armadillo. Interesting...
As far as the culture.......We see the american indian, asian and old Spain influences(as with the dragon and all) in the music but the culture always reminded me of Hawa'ii and Egypt, as well as 3 types of american indian cultures, Navajo, aztecs, and incas if including the music.....and ofcourse you can get creative on the way most of them have dark skin and almond shaped eyes. Though I seem to have just covered alot of the world....oh well. Maybe they were meant to just have a rich worldly, windWaker, Zelda, type of culture lol, don't blame the philosopher
So theres alot of ideas on a subject matter of our obsession!
